Honeymoon Day 13: Queenstown, Dart River Drive

Another day is what appears to be sunny Queenstown. Our last day here and after realising nothing is cheap we decided to go for a drive to the next town along, who knows, might be worth while. The next town along was Glenorchy. Glenorchy is famous for “tramping tracks”, being the gate way to Fiordland NP and the Remarkables NP, playing a large role in the Lord of the Rings movie and for Dart River. None of this we knew. So we were in for a nice surprise. Our first stop was a little jetty just out of the main town (if you can call a corner shop and petrol station a town). We got lots of interesting shots here most attempting to show off the cool reflections. To me the most notable feature of this area is the clarity of the water. (1ds, 17-40, f8, 1/320)

This is a picture of me taken by Maegan. Not sure why i like it but i do. It just seems to capture my thoughts at the time it was taken (bright sun, hurry up and take the damn photo). (1ds, 17-40, f8, 1/640).

Driving further along we found this cool wetland type area. I dont know much about it other than the reflections in the water were magnificent. (1ds, 17-40, f8, 1/320). Soon after this photo we arrived at what was meant to be an interesting bridge, I just dont get engineers.

After return trip we had a rest in the arvo. That night we took a gamble and went to a restaurant recommended by a guy who works at Hornsby BankWest. Winnies Gourmet Pizza Bar. What a cool place. The roof opens up so you can see the night sky and the food was awesome. My thoughts on Queenstown rest upon thats its a cool spot but to really enjoy it the way it was meant you need to be loaded.
