Diamond Python – Camp Kedron

We again had the pleasure of bumping into a Diamond Python, Morellia spilota spilota, this time at Camp Kedron. This individual was over 2m long and found near a small creek on one of our excursions. After capturing this snake it quickly calmed down and we took some photos of it with the kids. The above photo was taken by Niamh (D200, 28-120, f4.5, 1/320) and the below photo was taken by me (D200, 28-120, f8, 1/200) upon releasing the snake.

As under time constraints  I didnt get to spend the time I would have liked shooting this beautiful creature. It is one of the most elegantly coloured pythons I’ve seen.
